It was a dark and stormy night…oops, wrong story.

 

Charles and Jasper first met in 2018 while singing in a local LGBTQ choir. Although they had both noticed each other, they never said anything more than a simple “hello”. They even matched on Tinder and started talking, but Jasper stopped messaging back after a few hours, and Charles assumed he wasn’t interested. [In actuality, Jasper never clears out any of the app notifications on his phone and didn't notice the unread message].

 

A mutual friend in the choir knew that Charles and Jasper had a crush on each other. Since Jasper and the mutual friend sat next to each other during rehearsals, the friend kept putting the idea of going on a date with Charles in Jasper’s head. Around this time (and unbeknownst to the other), the choir’s board asked Charles and Jasper to assist with a project for an upcoming concert.

 

Within the first 5 minutes of the first project meeting, Jasper (being who he is…an extroverted, go-getter), walked over to Charles and blatantly stated that he knew Charles had a crush on him and that they should go on a date. Charles (being who he is…an introverted, over-thinker) was startled, somewhat embarrassed, and internally questioned why Jasper never responded to his messages on Tinder. But nevertheless, he agreed to go on a date. That evening, they went to see a movie.

 

3 states, 1 dog, and countless choir songs later…they are still together and excited to finally make it official!
